Ferrous Citrate, CAS 2338-05-8, is slowly dissolved in water, insoluble in ethanol. Ferrous Citrate, CAS 2338-05-8, is widely used as nutritional supplement. It can be used as food iron fortifier, whose absorption effect is better than inorganic iron. The recommended dosage has be regulated in our country: 3600-7200 mg/kg for salt and Center-fill candy; 1000-1200 mg/kg for grains with high amounts of iron; 360-600 mg/kg for dairy products and infant foods; 60-120 mg/kg for beverage. Besides, as a food additive, Ferrous Citrate, CAS 2338-05-8, can applies in biscuits, powder and milk powder. It is flammable, which can release acrid and irritant smog. Ferrous Citrate, CAS 2338-05-8, should be kept in cool, dry and ventilated warehouse, kept away from strong oxidants.
